Since first playing the bass guitar at the age of 13, Bob Nicholson has enjoyed playing with a multitude of Northwest bands, ranging in style from blues and country to hard rock. He has performed in classic rock bands such as Aerial and Rockville, as well as the blues band Wreckless Wricky and Nuthin' Fancy, a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band.
He has also opened for such bands as Paul Rodgers and Kansas.

His favorite genre of live music is hard classic rock and roll. As he puts it, "Classic hard rock has so much energy…it gives you a big high..bigger than any other drug there is."

Bob's super solid rhythm as well as his uniqe brand of humor make him a solid presence in the Max Axle lineup. In addition, his vocals do justice to the band's Lynyrd Skynrd and ZZ Top tunes.

Bob's musical influences include Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and ZZ Top.

What does Bob enjoy doing in his spare time? "Riding my hog and hangin' with my wolf."
