Puller Gear
Puller Gear
How do you remove the magneto from a 79′ arctic cat el tigre, do you need to use a gear puller?

You will destroy the flywheel if you use a gear puller. You must use a flywheel puller. It’s a bar with a round section. A large bolt goes in the center and it has three holes that match the bolt holes in the flywheel. You insert the three 6mm bolts then tighten the large bolt and give it a tap with a hammer. Off pops the flywheel.

You can buy universal pullers from places like Dennis Kirk or any snowmobile shop. You can also build one with piece of plate steel, three small holes and a hole with a welded on nut in the center for a 1/2″ bolt.

High Definition Accessories

HIGH DEFINITION ACCESSORIES

Miranda MDC-902 Downconverter
The Sony HDW-F900 HDCAM camcorder only one component high definition video production. This means that if you want to see what you're filming on a monitor that needs a high definition monitor with component inputs. In most situations, this is a real pain. To address this problem, the U.S. manufacturer Miranda, and others make downconverters. As downconverters all the latest model of Miranda, the MDC-902, attaches to the battery mount on the back of the camera and has a battery mount the back of a battery to power the camera and the Downconverter. The Downconverter is connected to the electronics of the camera for the 26-pin input just within a removable rear panel in the back of the camera.

Once connected, the MDC-902 offers a range of control products: High Definition SDI (HD SDI), SDI Standard Definition (SD SDI) and Standard Definition compound. This allows the use of a wide range of monitors and if necessary allows you to power more than one monitor using HD or SD feeds.

If you are using an HDW-F900 in a multi-cameras and image recording with a recorder instead of the camera, a Downconverter is essential if you prefer to use an IDE HD instead of an HD channel. The obvious advantage is that you simply run a cable each chamber instead of three. As an aside, in doing so, be sure to use a BNC cable that is made to handle a high definition signal. For the control can only get by with standard BNC cables, but for recording you must use cables made for high-definition signal.

The costs Miranda £ 65 to £ 80 per day to hire and therefore increases costs, but if your shooting demands that the quality offered by the HDW-F900, especially if you pull will be shown on a movie screen, it's worth the price.

The next smallest model HDCAM, HDW-750P has a built-in HD SDI output which makes recruitment a Downconverter unnecessary. The 750P only offers two options to shoot in, 25P and 50i, while the F900 offers eight possible configurations. However, if you are recording for television, this should not generally a problem and if cost is a concern of the 750P is probably the best way to go.

Sony LMD-9050 Monitor
This is a model in the range of new Sony LCD monitors nine inches. Accepts SD composite, component, and the IDE channels and HD SDI channels. Indeed lighter than the nine-inch CRT Sony no longer manufactures and we offer them in Custom Made metal boxes that are in there. The advantage of this monitor is the range of sources that accept. It is also environmentally friendly as stated in the first e-zine.

I would recommend using a high definition monitor in HD shoot whenever possible. If you use an SD monitor will be brighter images because the scan lines are larger and if you're using the monitor to help establish your exposure you can easily end up by as much as one third of a stop. Furthermore, there is a risk that what appears to be targeted in an SD monitor may not be in focus when viewed on a HD monitor, or when projected (see more about the approach below).

The rental rate rental for the Sony LMD-9050 is £ 60 per day.

Following the outbreak of
HDCAM tapes show much more detail than standard definition images, so approach is especially critical. To help ensure sharper focus some clients may use a tracking approach. This team approach gives the ring Objective and is supported by the type of bars used in the production matte boxes. Allowing you to focus without touching the lens through a set of gears that fit into the teeth the focus ring on the lens. These gears are converted by a wheel that is controlled by operating the focus tracking platform.

In the world of cinema, continue to focus almost always used. They are usually operated by a focus puller but with video cameras sometimes a camera assistant or even the operator to perform this function.

We carry the Arri FF4 follow focus and if you're interested to see the work we can fix that. The rental rate is £ 40 per day.

If you need to use a follow focus or not depends on the demands of its release. In general, the Declaration of Principles, lighting cameraman or budget decide. However, jobs of high definition, must be considered more frequently than in the case of outbreaks of standard definition.

Lenses high definition
If you are shooting HDCAM should use high definition lenses. They are designed to provide higher quality images can be obtained with the standard definition lenses. Keeping the base, a high definition lens is made to handle the highest resolution and detail in the HDCAM cameras. Definition lenses standard are not. In fact, if you use a high definition lens in a camera SD should observe the image is sharper because of the higher resolution.

We carry a wide range of Canon HD zoom lenses that operate in the same way that Canon SD lenses. They come in three focal lengths: 11 × 4.7 (wide angle), 17 × 7.7 (standard) and 22 × 7.8. There are other options, including cinema-style lenses and the first but which are often used for drama and commercial shoots.

Prices for these lenses ranges from £ 90 and £ 120 per day.

Abstract
There are some accessories geared specifically to the shooting in HD. Apart from the Downconverter, none of them is different from any camera equipment well known. Anyone recording in HD is more likely the use of high-definition lenses and HD monitors. There was a higher demand for care continues platforms on employment in high definition we did in posts downconverters SD work and are only necessary when using the HDW-F900. That sums it briefly.

Paul Wheeler DVDs
We have received many requests for editing Interview with Paul Wheeler in HD. The DVDs have been made, but when we went out to the ships last week we had some problems with the copies. We sent back to the doubling of the company and hope that the issue sorted this week. As soon as you are ready, we send out. I hope it will be later this week.

Until next time, happy shooting.
