What is the best car for a new driver? (teen driver)?

The cars that I am interested in for buying are the following:
1. 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
2. 1999 Buick Century
3. 2000 Chevrolet Impala

If you own any of these cars, please give me advise on them. Thank You.

You will be sorry if you buy any of those pieces of crap.

Most american cars break down all the time.

An old school american car WOULD be safe, but get horrible gas mileage. And it would be easier to find someone that knows how to fix it. A new car is controlled by 3,4,5,6, ? onboard computers, and it will be very unlikely a non-specialized mechanic would be able to fix it.

Notice how most cars are Honda’s, or Toyota’s now a days?
Their is a reason for that….More realiable, better gas mileage
