Guitar, Vocals
Greg
Detert picked up his first guitar at the age of 13 and since then
has progressed through the Puget Sound music scene as a major talent
in a variety of bands such as Final Notice and Magnum Load, both
hard rock bands from the 70's and 80's, as well as his involvement
with Nuthin' Fancy, a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band. His most recent
band before joining Max Axle was the hard rock group Shelly's Leg.
Greg enjoys the hard driving guitar riffs that are the staple of
hard classic rock and he brings not only a versatility to the band
alternating between rhythm and lead but also shines in his tight
guitar solos as a result of his intricate guitar work. Greg is always
on top of his game.
Greg cut his musical teeth on bands such as Bad Company, Black
Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd and he names guitar greats
such as Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani and Eric Clapton as his main
guitar influences.
When he's not playing, Greg loves to fish (salmon beware!) and
enjoys checking out other local bands.
